Alex "Army" Armstrong
Army is a pocket knife of a skier. Coming from the East and growing up ski racing, she honed her technical skiing skills on the icy hills of Mont Ste. Marie, Quebec. After realizing she was a ski bum in the wrong province, she moved out to Banff, Alberta. Army learnt how to navigate the backcountry by becoming a ski patroller and freeski while competing on the local FWQ stops. After getting some notice from sponsors, Army decided to pursue a career as a professional skier. Through a few years of hard work and luck, she now has self-produced many projects, including Skier Rich, which she was nominated for Female Performance of the Year at iF3, starred in Blank’s 2022 film, "Feels Real" and will appear in Teton Gravity's Film this fall 2023. Army is now based out of Squamish, British Columbia on the unceded ancestral territories of the Lil’Wat and Squamish Nations. Her limited edition IWO North Shore 114 model honours the scared grounds she calls home by donating all proceeds to the "Indigenous Women Outdoors" charity to that assists indigenous women access their native surroundings.
"Inspired by my racing roots and my big mountain style, the North Shore 114 is made to charge and be stable on big lines but maneuverable enough to nail techy pillows, trees and slash a good old fashion pow turn!"
Alex Sardella
Alex has been living Truckee for the last six years and what started as a passion for deep powder, turned into an endless search for ripping singletrack. He enjoys riding all types of bikes, but you can usually find him plotting up mountain bike rides throughout Tahoe. His favorite zone is the Lost Sierra, as it offers long and raw descents, combined with serene alpine lakes and rivers. The Wednesday Ride-O’s in the summer are always a fun time too, they have developed into a great opportunity to ride bikes with the local community. Alex was fortunate to be with RMU from the early days when we were just building out the location in Truckee. He has gotten to know the whole crew and being an Ambassador was an easy choice for him. "It’s cool to see RMU become engrained in Tahoe's culture and be part of our rad little community here in Truckee. I’m hyped to be repping RMU in both the summers and winters throughout NorCal.
"The Pint Bag is such a rad little accessory for on frame bike storage. It holds tools, snacks, gloves - all those minor things you always need on a ride. "
"The Core Pack 25 has become by go to for everyday and weekend travel. For days when you are packing up to go shuttle bikes for the day, or weekend camping trips, it's got organized and tidy storage for all the stuff."
"Believe it or not there are people who don’t have a camper on their Tacoma Truck bed. The Tailgate locker is a perfect tailgate pad for loading bikes in and out of the truck bed, it’s even got a small built in cooler for cold beers apres ride!"
Ashley Floyd
Ashley was born and raised in the Rockies and is now residing in the Sierra. She has a large appreciation for nature and an even larger urge to utilize the landscapes with outdoor sports. Ashley charges on skis, but also rides mtb and moto in the summers making her a well rounded weapon. She really enjoys anything that mixes adrenaline and nature making her a perfect fit for the RMU Truckee Team! You can also catch her crafting cocktails behind the bar.
"The Professors shred in all conditions, but excel on deep days and cutting through the crud. I've skied this ski in every condition and use it as a daily driver. "
Ashli Lewis
Ashli is a mountain sports enthusiast that hails from the flatlands of the midwest. After following her mountain wonder to Tahoe a decade ago, she fell in love with mountain biking and even more so with the biking community. Airtime was her first riding niche, but these days she seeks tech and steeps. She earns her dollars for toys as a wildlife biologist, which also gives her a sense of purpose and an avenue to protect the wild spaces that provide the magical playground for all of the adrenaline tapping sports we all love. She also loves snowboarding and trail running. Her sidekick, Luda dog, makes most of the decisions and rules her world. When the sun goes down, and even when its still up, she loves dancing: in her car, at the house, at camp, festivals, at the trailhead, on the bike, and most of all with friends.
"I’m stoked to be a part of the RMU fam and rep their rad products! I’m loving the low profile and functionality of the utility belt. I like to rock it under my jersey; it’s comfortable with just enough space to carry all the things. Also the social niche that RMU provides to the community is so appreciated!"
Beau Rohlen
Beau is a 13 year old pro mogul skier that lives in Truckee California and skis at Palisades Tahoe. Beau has loved skiing for as long as he can remember, from free skiing to mogul skiing. As long he's skiing, he's pretty much happy. His dream is to make it to the US Ski Team for moguls and then go to the Olympics.
"The Rippah Jr is my ski of choice for all mountain skiing, especially after a snowstorm…. It is fast and also forgiving… I love the feeling of taking the Rippah Jr through the turns and drops of a fresh snow day…"
Benny Smith
Benny Smith is 27 years old, born and raised in Vermont. He moved out to Colorado at age 16 and competed in slope style until the age of 22. Being a local in the Breckenridge and Copper region, he sparked connections with RMU founder Mike Waesche. He signed on with RMU 10 years ago as a core athlete in RMU's identity, helping design our signature park ski "The Rippah" with co-athlete Ethan Swadburg. After entering level 1 SuperUnknown he started to gear towards filming, particularly in backcountry segments. Since appearing in Level 1's SuperUnknown, Benny has starred in Level 1 films; Romance, Pleasure, Habit and Zig Zag. Benny went on to create the ski crew Strictly with his friends and put out four movies; Strictly Business, Welcome, Bermuda, and Wildcard. He has been nominated for IF3’s Male Skier of the year and Backcountry Segment of the year. When he’s not skiing he’s most likely hammering nails, mountain biking, dirt biking or golfing, while helping shape the future of RMU skis with his input on the rebirth of the Professor 121.
"The rippah continues to be old faithful in the park. Every time I hop back on that ski it’s a pleasant reunion with my earlier days of skiing park daily. They get everything done for me in the park, stiff enough to still chuck doubles and be confident in going big, knowing they can take the impact, but playful enough to surface swap and butter around. "
"The professor is the perfect ski to have in the backcountry every day. At 121 underfoot and 188 in length you would assume that’s a tough ski to handle, but it skis really quick and snappy. I feel like I’m on a park ski out there. They are stiff enough where I’m comfortable to ski big lines or jumps but still snappy and buttery enough for me to get creative. I’m really happy with how this ski turned out."
"The apostle 106 is a fantastic everyday resort ski. The ski gives me comfort to take them from the early morning all mountain laps, to some park laps in the afternoon. They handle speed and chop better than any ski I’ve ridden before and are super fun and snappy in the park. If your looking for a one ski quiver for the year this is the one. "
Braedyn Kozman
Braedyn Kozman is another migrante from Ontario, growing up riding bikes he made the move west to Whistler in 2014. After a number of years riding and skiing in the Whistler valley he began working as ski and bike patrol. He spends most days off exploring the trails and Sea to Sky backcountry looking for fresh lines and ridge top traverses. Braedyn joined the RMU team in 2020 not long after the opening of RMU Whistler we look forward to what he gets up to this season.
"The Apostle 106 is my go to ski for almost all conditions. Skiing groomers, smashing bumps, or skiing fresh pow it does it all. The versatility of the ski is perfect for the resort when conditions are changing hourly."
"The professor is my big gun. When it's dumped overnight and you're ready to ski big line and deep pow, it's THE SKI. Stable at speed with the agility when you need to navigate trees, the Professor is the ski you want when you're getting after it. "
Carson McCarron
Carson was lucky enough to be born and raised in the lake tahoe basin. Growing up in this environment sparked an early love for skiing and mountain culture that has shaped Carson’s passions, work ethic and love for his home. After graduating from Truckee high school, Carson moved around the United States from Colorado to Oregon and Santa Barabra. After exploring new places his love for the mountains brought him back to the sierras. Carson has spent years improving his skill, learning from mentors and doing anything possible to live out his dream of being able to ski for a living. Carson rides for RMU and has a great time submerging himself in the brand's culture. He loves to share videos of his ticks and runs, and recently has been learning the editing side of things to better the content he has to share.
"From day 1 riding with RMU I’ve been using the YLE 118’s and couldn’t be happier with their performance. With a symmetrical change in the tip and tail it transfers edges and handles high speeds with ease. Anything from deep days to fresh groomers, the YLE 118’s excel."
Chris Letourneau
Growing up skiing the north shore mountains of Vancouver, Chris moved to Whistler after high school and lived In a dilapidated school bus without heat or running water and skied black park every day. This led him down a path of working as a digger on the Blackcomb glacier in the summer alongside legendary Whistler shredders, putting down roots in the local ski community. Those early glacier days opened the door to filming for Whistler ski movie cult classics PNW and Out of the Shadows many moons ago along side a talented cast of local rippers and opened his eyes to the world of snowmobile accessed backcountry skiing when was first doubled out to Brandywine to hit backcountry booters and his mind was blown. From that moment he was all in and Chris aligned himself with friend and mentor Dave Treadway's sledneck shred crew with a shared vision of pushing deep into the coast mountains to open up new zones and ride big lines and migrate north to AK to sled ski and explore bigger mountains in the spring. Pursuing Freeride World Tour events lead him to ski different ranges around the world trying to qualify and make it in the early days of FWT, connecting him with a greater freeride family of fellow dirt bags. These days Chris resides in Revelstoke BC where he can be found deep in the cunch far away from anyone, pow surfing, rooping his sled and looking for spines and pillows to ride purely for the love of it.
"Ive rode the YLE 118 every day for the past 5 winters. They're surfy and super fun to slash, butter, throw on edge and rail turns. They're also really stable charging high speed in any conditions you throw at them and are confidence inspiring stomping big airs. Stiff when you need them to be yet playful. They're an absolute weapon whether in deep snow or straigtlining icy moguls"
Colin Dalmata
Colin was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. His love for skiing was sparked at a young age at little known Royal Mountain, where he would spend weekends chasing his older brothers around the hill. His skills were honed in the tight trees and beautiful blue ice the Northeast is known for, eventually moving to Tahoe in 2018 dreaming of softer snow and spicier lines. When he’s not skiing, he can typically be found fitting boots at Olympic Bootworks, cooking dinner for friends or drinking a Twea in the RMU carriage house.
"As an east coaster the Apostle 96 pro really checks all the boxes for me, it can rip up crispy groomers and doesn’t bat an eye when it warms up and the snow gets sloppy. It’s a ski you will have fun on regardless of the conditions."
"The 25L Core pack quickly became my everyday pack regardless if I’m skiing the resort, going in the backcountry, or just heading to the shop. The pockets are well thought out and easy to access even when wearing gloves. It fits snug to the body, making it barely noticeable when skiing. The DWR finish also does a great job of keeping gear dry."
Connie Henderson
Between ski patrolling, guiding, and personal expeditions, Connie might just spend more time attached to skis than not. Growing up zooming around on snow while her parents worked at the local hill in Ohakune, New Zealand, she fell in love with skiing early on. Her early racing days turned to freestyle comps and coaching as she made the jump north to Canada. After a few seasons coaching for the Fernie Freestyle Club, Connie started ski patrolling. Her passion grew for bigger, more wild mountains and kickstarted her interest in guiding. These days, Connie can be found chasing powder for work and play around British Columbia in her trusty old blue truck ‘Tilly’, throwing explosives for kiwi ski fields, or ripping big lines in a party shirt on a glacier somewhere. Tough to say not knowing.

Danielle Bordeleau
Growing up on Vancouver Island, Danielle sparked her deep love for the outdoors at a very young age whilst trying to copy everything her older brother did. In 2018, she made the move to Whistler for the sole purpose of wanting to ride her bike. Whether out trail riding or ripping bike park laps with friends, she thrives on the adrenaline and community that the sport provides.
"The core pack 15l has been my go to for slackcountry days off the resort as well as longer missions biking, hiking as well as just for daily use. Super light weight and comfortable; a pack that does it all. "
"The pint bag easily attaches to my frame and fits all the necessities! Great to use as I don’t have to carry anything else on me. Doesn’t rattle around and is quite durable for those moments when you run out of skill."
Derek Hobden
Derek is a mountain biker. In the last 16 years since Derek and his friends started exploring the hills of the East Bay Area, CA by bike, he has continuously refined his craft. Living in Truckee since 2020 has only taken his passion for mountain biking to new heights. “Over the years, Truckee has evolved into a hub for all mountain bike disciplines, surpassing the quality of our local rides with the caliber of riders, builders, and advocates who call this place home... We also ride duff way better than the Whistler crew, I’m sure of it.” In the winter, Derek rips his skis and powsurf, but probably just because he hasn’t leaned into his friends' advice to build a proper snow-ready fat bike. It’s not all fun and games, though; Derek’s enthusiasm for his work in the renewable energy sector rivals that of his mountain bike obsession.
"For big backcountry rips, the Core 15L pack is my go-to. I was pretty apprehensive about rocking a backpack at first (PTSD from days gooning around with a CamelBak), but the utility, comfort, and style of the Core 15L are seriously unmatched. One day, I stuffed a full baguette, 5 slim-jims (full size boiz), 4 nature's bakery bars, 2 jackets, 3L water, multitool, chain lube, 12 oz beer, knife, keys, sunnies, and a tube into this thing and it wasn't even phased."
"This hipper is easy to recommend. I think it's cool to have minimal gear on you, but even cooler have exactly what you need when your ride takes a turn for the worst -- this pack threads that needle perfectly. I'm convinced there's some black magic employed here to get this thing to hold so much while at the same time never really looking like it's stuffed."
"I used to store a tube on my bike frame via a strap, but inevitably every time I needed that tube, it would be pinched or torn due to run of the mill mtb shenanigans. Well, I converted to the Pint Bag this summer, and for the first time in years, my tube has remained intact with no pinches. A little protection goes a long way, and I can also fit my inflator and CO2 in the thing for a nice snug fit."
Fred Stamm
Fred started racing road bikes at age 14 on the coast of California. He switched to racing mountain bikes 11 years later and has been sharing his love for the sport ever since. Fred’s creation of Truckee Bike Night exemplifies one way he shares his passion for the sport by bringing the local community together on wheels every month. After retiring from a dedicated lifestyle of racing bikes at a high level, Fred moved closer to the mountains and immersed himself in the local ski culture. Prior to the Zoom town era, Fred was lucky enough to land a fulfilling engineering career with Placer County where he continues to work with the local mountain communities.
"I have never been a fan of the restrictive feeling of wearing packs while riding bikes, but the Core Pack 15L has converted me; especially for those all-day adventure rides."
"The carbon Apostle 96 ski has been a favorite of mine for long hikes in the backcountry while still inspiring confidence to ski aggressively on the descents."
Goar Bermudez Garcia
Goar was born in Madrid, Spain, his family put him on skis at age 3, and grew up between the mountains of Northern Spain where his family is from, and from who he got the passion for nature, outdoors recreation and skiing. At age 17 he became a ski club instructor, joined every single ski trip through university and decided that needed to find a balance between Architecture and Skiing, office and outdoors, so he started a small ski club travel program with his University crew, that took him to the Alps and his first trip to Colorado which changed everything. On his last school year moved abroad to the Italian Alps based out of Torino, Italy at age 24. At age 25 he became a ski coach by the Spanish RFEDI and spent two seasons on the best lift access terrain of the Pyrenees, at Baqueira Beret ski resort, where learned the ropes of big mountain skiing. The second season ended with a broken tib spring accident in the Alps, which forced him to stay still and found time for bigger plans. At age 27 Goar took the dream a bit further coming back to North America and moving to the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, where based out of Whistler he starts his guiding dream, and after 3 seasons of coaching while taking his first guiding courses, makes the move from coaching to guiding, exploring and guiding all around BC for the past 7 seasons and hits another childhood dream guiding out of Hokkaido, Japan last season. Goar found in RMU a special connection since 2020 and is incredibly proud to be part of this family where building community is the only path forward regardless of your origins and growth is warranted learning and supporting each other through our mountain lifestyle, while trying to inspire and support each other to pursue and share our passion and outdoor dreams. You can find Goar hunting the best snow conditions with friends while training to become a ski guide, after each ski day you can find him sharing ski adventures and some tasty craft beers on the RMU patio, best apres in town!
"I pick the Apostle Metal for touring days car to car, where I want to move fast on the uphill and shred through anything on the way down, also for all around days on the hill. This is the closest Ive seen to a perfect do it all tool."
"I pick the Professor for those bottomless and playfull days, I find them in perfect harmony with the CAST bindings to allow lift access tours and for sled days or mechanized guiding shifts."
"I take this bag to all my mechanized guiding days, fits all the tools and extra gear for long day trips. The new model is now so light that has become my daily pack for big tours as well, incredible how many pockets this bag includes to keep everything in place!"
Helena Hoppenrath
Helena grew up on Bowen Island, a small Island in Howe Sound just off the coast of Vancouver. Spending her childhood between the Island, and Whistler BC. Helena grew up skiing from a young age with her parents Andy and Mary. Passing on a mountain lifestyle and knowledge of the coast mountain backcountry that many dream of. Into her teen years, she trained with the whistler freeride club, and competed on the IFSA freeski circuit. Training with the freeride club set a solid foundation for her following ski aspirations. Now residing in Pemberton BC, and exploring the surrounding area by snowmobile, she shares experiences and passion for the mountains alongside her family and tight knit community in the sea to sky corridor. This past season Helena has felt a significant shift in her perspective on skiing and how she wants to represent herself in this industry. Having creative outlets has been a huge contributor to that. Balancing her time working for Blackcomb Ski Patrol, and producing a Super 8 film project alongside RMU athlete Elsa Smith. She’s been learning all the in’s and out’s of filming in the backcountry, and enjoying the whole process. We’re looking forward to seeing what Helena’s cooking up!
"The YLE 118 ski was a game changer for me. No matter what conditions I’m skiing in, they go. Crud, hard-pack, pow, corn snow, you name it! The width, paired with the asymmetrical build, gives them a smooth surfy feel. I started surfing a few years back, and I feel like it’s influenced my style, and has made me look at the mountain with a new perspective. Those ski’s give me that feeling, and some days it really does feel like I’m riding a wave. I’m happy I went with the big boys, and I’ll never go back!"
"The North shore 114 is my daily driver. The stiffness of this ski enables you to charge while hot lapping resort, and has just enough flex, with a wider shovel to comfortably ride down a playful pillow line. This winter was my rookie season on the sled, and I was able to access a whole different world of terrain. I brought the 114’s with me everyday, and I felt that they gave me great confidence down every line I skied. Alex hit the hammer on the nail with every aspect of the North shore 114. And It made the whole experience that much more special when you're riding on a ski that your good buddy designed! I’m excited to bring this ski with me on future missions, and see what we get up to."
Henry Wilkins
Henry was born and raised in the thick woods of Catskills, New York and has been on two wheels from two years old. For the past nine years he has called the Sierra Rang home. When he's not on his bicycle you can find him on a bike with an engine. Henry is a part time skier, full time ranch-hand (sometimes race car mechanic/ diesel mechanic/ machine operator), and you can always catch him outside. He also loves chicken fingers.
"My favorite product so far is the RMU core pack 15L. I’ve purposely tried to ruin this backpack. Not possible. I use this pack on a daily basis and has dealt with all the conditions from diesel stains to rain to Redbull Rampage 2023"
Wiley Miller
Wiley Miller is a legend in the ski world who originally grew up in Billings, MT. Wiley's work as a competitive and film athlete, as well as background in product development and design, has had a profound effect on the industry and sport for the past decade. Skiing has always been a part of Wiley's life and something he's focused on more than anything. His unique and creative skiing, mixed with challenging features in the backcountry has developed into his signature style, smooth and effortless. Wiley loves to produce film projects to reflect the creative style that drives him to be in the mountains everyday. His latest film Connection To Gravity gives us an in-depth look at current life in his home state of Montana and how skiing continues to drive him through life’s challenges. This film aims to simplify the true form of meaning and happiness we all look to achieve through dedicated practice and passion.
"...I designed this ski (YLE 118) to handle certain attributes of skiing better then others. Understandably I want these things to be able to handle powder, handle high speed but also be able to charge the mountain everyday, so it needs to turn and it cant be a 2 x 6. So I understand that there is some give and take with this ski the use is good in powder, playful, but needs to handle high speed, jumps, and skiable through the trees or chop on the mountain....the ski is not asymmetrical, the sidecut is the same on both skis inside or outside. One thing RMU and I focused on is that for the longest time skis were designed as an individual which makes sense but for this ski and what it is meant to do we were inspired by the entire canvas of the board. I guess if you thought of it like a no board or a surfboard and cut it in two you start to get a much different shape then as just one ski. "
Jack Englert
Jack was born and raised in Truckee and started skiing at age 5 where he immediately found his love for speed and adrenaline. Fast forward 20 years and you can still find him at Squaw stoking everyone out on the hill and in the lift lines. Jack achieved his lifelong goal of doing a naked backflip into national chute (McConkey inspired) in 2019 and has plans to follow that up this season. “I’m so happy to be apart of the RMU Team and surrounding myself with badass, likeminded people who like to have the most fun ever!” Jack loves being heckled so be sure to give him a hard time on the hill while spreading the stoke.
"The skis are amazing and I'm the best skier on the mountain"
Jacob Belanger
Jacob recently clinched the title of Amateur Skier of the Year at the 2023 IF3 festival in Whistler, BC. Hailing from Lac Beauport, Québéc, and began skiing at the age of 2 at his local resort Le Relais. The province of Québéc in Canada has continuously put out some of the best park and freeskiers in the game year after year. The Québécois culture puts skiing on the highest pedestal, but for which many outside of the province are yet to know. Jacob's skiing was inherited through family, being taught from the moment he could walk by his father and grandfather. He continued on with the family passion as a ski racer until age 11 when he fell in love with park skiing. His effortless style to land more spins than seems plausible has landed him with sponsors for numerous years. Jacob moved out to Whistler in 2020 to pursue the larger mountains and backcountry terrain. RMU caught his eye when RMU local Kyle Coxworth's custom Rippah graphic was released and flooded the Whistler/Blackcomb park. Jacob said he "really loved the vibe of the company with the Resto/bar/ski shop at the bottom of the ski hill! The switch to rmu skis just came naturally and i’m so stoked about it! 🫡" Jacob has been apart of numerous street and park projects in Québéc, and partook in Good Company's "Working Title" in 2019. Since moving to British Colombia, the film projects took a backseat while adjusting the environment and backcountry terrain. But for this 2022/2023 winter season, Jacob spent weeks in-front of the lens in an upcoming sequel film to Joey Kraft's "Braj". He's determined this new film will be his best work on skis yet, and we're in for a treat! Other sponsor: Planks clothing, D-structure shop, Trinsic Optic
"I’ve been on the north shore 114 pretty much every day this year and this ski is probably one of the most fun and playfull skis i had the chance to ride. From the deep day in the backcountry to the choppy moguls on the resort , even in the park and on rails, it did it all so well! Even if the tail is a little flat, if your concerned about not being able to ride switch in the pow on this ski , let me tell you that it works super well! Nothing but good things to say about it !"
Jake Sandstrom
Haje grew up learning to ski in the Kootenays and the Rockies, venturing into park and pipe skiing when his family made the move from Cranbrook BC to Calgary AB. His primary focus growing up was always on skiing, so much so he into competing in Slopestyle, Big Air and Halfpipe. Jake spent many years training and competing throughout North America and abroad before ultimately deciding to move on from the competitions and settle down, for the time being. He now resides in the Sea To Sky corridor as an RMU Whistler ambassador, with Whistler's large opportunities, he's been able to broaden his focus into other aspects of skiing, such as coaching with the local freestyle ski club, exploring the backcountry and filming.
"The Rippah is a high quality park ski, a twist on a traditional shape with lots of camber, stiff enough for the biggest jumps and agile on the rails, yet pressable and playful for the downdays."
"My go-to mountain ski. The North shore will perform anywhere on the mountain, they're comfortable charging at high speeds through pow or chunder, stomping cliffs, playing in pillows, and they're the perfect size for backcountry jumping. Not too bad to pull up the skin track either!"
Jennifer Callahan
Jen grew up in the high desert near Lake Tahoe. Being a 5th generation Nevadan meant that she developed a taste for big vistas and cold, dry, snow. After years of travelling extensively, Jen settled back down in the place where it all started: Lake Tahoe. Now, Jen teaches avalanche classes all around the shores of Lake Tahoe while also serving as a water quality protection Environmental Scientist for the area's threatened watersheds. Jen practices circus, plays drums, and loves that you can ski, climb, bike, catch live music, and perform circus arts all around Lake Tahoe and sometimes in the same day. Jen's resume includes freeride coaching, serving on Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, performing circus in Reno casinos, lead guiding for cat skiing operations, and bumping chairs.
"The Apostle 106 Carbon is the best ski for huge missions and long days working on my skis. The snappy directional construction gives me confidence when I have dropped into a line deep into the backcountry and find that I need to hop-turn my way down variable snow. The light weight guarantees that I'll have enough gas in the tank for those second and third laps."
"The North Shore 114 is the Cadillac I have been craving for those deep and heavy Sierra Nevada winters. The fact that it maintains agility when hanging on to a classic and icy Alpine Meadows or Kirkwood puckerfest traverse and can then keep you stable once you finally get to the goods is why I think it is one of my favorite Sierra Nevada skis. "
Joey Kraft
Joey Kraft's journey with RMU began in 2019 when our RMU Whistler Concept Location opened. Kirill Kokorin, a current RMU Whistler Ambassador, met CEO & Founder Mike Waesche at the local Lost Lake Park, introducing a whole local community to RMU's intended goal. Joey quickly developed an interest in RMU's objective, being a local skier who had relocated to Whistler from Ontario to pursue the skiing lifestyle. Even before RMU officially opened, Joey could be found constructing tables and laying bricks in the RMU location, before assuming a role in the kitchen. With his open personality, there were more than a couple of Club-Joeys held in the kitchen while the front of the house was packed shoulder to shoulder. With a keen desire to learn more and invest in the ski industry, Joey took on the role of Retail & Events Manager at RMU Whistler, expanding our ambassador program with local core skiers, many of whom still ride with us today. Community-focused, Joey's influence played an integral part in RMU's growth in Whistler, involving GNAR days, local film competitions, and assistance with marketing projects company-wide. Joey discovered opportunities within the Whistler community to further pursue his passion for filmmaking, and his skills, awareness, and passion exponentially grew. Joey departed from RMU in 2022 to pursue his own filmmaking opportunities, releasing his first film, "Braj" with RMU and other local skiers. He has only continued to thrive in the skiing and film industry with his latest release, "Water The Plants" and we couldn't be more excited to watch his adventure”
"I ride the NS 114’s and they’ve been the go to in pretty much any conditions. They’re super fun to carve on groomers, they charge through choppy conditions and float on those deep whistler pow days. Shout out to Alex Armstrong and the rest of the product development team over for killing it on the design on this one!"

"Valhalla 107: This ski is my go-to when I want to feel like a boss. It offers quick turn initiations and pivots, proving incredibly nimble on packed snow. Its aggressive nature on hardpack and versatility in varied terrain make it a top choice for any skiing enthusiast."
"North Shore 110: For my everyday adventures, this ski is my playful yet powerful companion. Ideal for fresh pow, chop, jibbing, and handling anything the resort throws at me, the North Shore 110 is a reliable and versatile choice."
Kate Amore

She got a job as a lift operator at Palisades Tahoe and spent just about everyday possible skiing. Kate fell in love with the mountains, the community, and the skiing in the Truckee/Tahoe basin. She enjoys the adrenaline rush of dropping big cliffs, as well as the mental challenge of figuring out new tricks in the park.
"I like the North Shore 114s because they’re super responsive on groomers and moguls, which is very important for resort skiing. They’re aggressive in the powder and playful in the park."
Keri Herman
Growing up in Minnesota, Keri Herman started out as a hockey player. She found her true calling in skiing at the age of 21 when she was attending the University of Denver. Graduating in 2005 with a Finance and Marketing degree, she moved to Breckenridge and reignited her love for competition. She competed at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, has 5 X games silver medals, 3 Dew Tour medals, World Cup and Grand Prix podium finishes and was the first female to become World Champion and take home the Crystal Globe for Slopestyle Skiing.
"I helped create the Valhalla 97 and 107 which are my all time favorite skis on the planet! They are so playful and fun! I have so much control whether I'm skiing big mountain, groomers, trees or park. I am obsessed. It's so great being a part of a company that works so well together to create new, innovative and awesome products!"
Kirill Kokorin
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, he spent most of his younger years near Toronto, Ontario. It's an unlikely upbringing for someone who now makes a living from being in the snow. His parents happened to be lifelong skiers who traveled extensively in Eastern Europe to pursue an unconventional ski hobby at the time (probably on wooden skis). A combination of support from his parents and his self-drive and passion for the industry led him to live in the Sea to Sky corridor. These days Kirill is pursuing a career in Avalanche Forecasting and Mitigation. You can frequently find him digging in the snow and analyzing weather models to make snowpack predictions. Be careful when asking him about the weather, you may just be sucked into a big discussion. When the avalanche danger is high, he's no stranger to the resort huckfest with the RMU crew. Follow along with Kirill’s winter, I am sure there will be no shortage of hucks, aesthetic ski lines and backcountry education.
""This season I will be on the Professor 121 and North Shore 114. I have complete trust in these skis when dropping into a line or taking air. They are very predictable and fun to ride in all terrain. I can't imagine ever switching to another brand - I even got my Dad a pair of the 114s!""
Kyle Coxworth
Kyle Coxworth is like a lot of Whistler locals, originally from Ontario. Growing up skiing in Ontario's park and urban culture, Kyle made the move to Whistler at 20 years old to pursue the skiing lifestyle. The move included numerous friends from Ontario and their crew "Spring & Friends" have hammered the Black Park of Whistler Blackcomb season after season. Kyle was introduced to RMU by watching Ethan Swadburg but like numerous other current RMU athletes, became involved in the community through the creation of our Whistler location. Now 4 years on RMU skis, Kyle has produced his own limited edition top-sheet for "The Rippah" from photography during his ski urban segments, partook in Level 1's
"To me the rippah has been the most consistent ski for me. Been using it non stop for the last 4 seasons with no complaints on how they ride. Built so solid and I trust them to get me to and out of anything. I would easily choose this ski over anything."
"The professor definitely made my thoughts towards fat pow skis change a lot. I struggled to get comfy on most of the other options i tried since ive been on RMU. This ski surprised me alot and I immediately felt comfy and connected to it and how it behaves. got full control on the ski right away and will stick to this one for a while. "
Laine Koroll
Laine grew up in Vernon BC, discovering a passion for skiing at Silverstar mountain resort as a local ripper. She joined the Silverstar freestyle club during school and began coaching the new young female rippers at the same time, mastering both the park and the instructor's jacket. Laine moved to Whistler two years ago to further her coaching experience, along with her own skiing ability with new opportunities in Whistler's backcountry and the snowfall the Pacific North West has to offer. Between getting her first touring setup and getting dropped off the back of a snowmobile for the first time in 2022, Laine is making a name for herself in the community as an up and coming athlete, positively representing the evergrowing list of top local female athletes. Laine obviously has a vision for her skiing, as she join RMU just over 12months ago and has moved from a role in the kitchen, to bartending, and now an ambassador through her dedication and skiing. We're excited to her Laine on the Whistler ambassador team and see what she gets up to this winer.
"The north shore 114s have been my go to when I’m not in the park. They charge through any condition as well as don’t weigh me down when I’m trying to pop around and spin. The width is perfect for any in resort as well as keep me floating on a pow day. "
"As far as park skiing, the rippah has blown my mind with its responsiveness without giving up any of its stability when stomping on rails or flying off jumps. I trust this ski more than any others when trying something new and I have them to thank for a good part of my park progression last year. "
Luca Natale
Hailing from Quebec, Luca Natale is another slopestyle skier turned all-mountain shredder. Luca made the move to Whistler several years ago and has since spent the majority of his time chasing deep snow and tearing up the mountain with speed and style. On and off the mountain, Luca brings a fun, positive attitude, making him an ideal addition to any chairlift ride, ski trip, or après-ski session. For the upcoming season, Luca plans to continue filming and, in general, just have fun on his skis.

Mac Marcoux
Hailing from a small rural community in northern Ontario, Mac grew up in a very motorsport oriented family. He spent most of his early childhood chasing his siblings around on dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and go karts. At the age of 8 Mac was diagnosed with “Stargardt's Disease” which led to the deterioration of most of his vision leaving him with 6% in his Peripherie. Marcoux shifted to ski racing working his way onto the Canadian Para Alpine Ski Team in 2012. Mac has since become one of the Canadian ski team’s most decorated athletes with over 50 World Cup podiums, 6 World Championship titles, and 6 Paralympic podiums. Aside from his athletic career Mac has spent the majority of his free time in the backcountry pushing avenues of sport that don’t fall under the Paralympic umbrella. Moving forward, Mac is dedicated to working towards creating accessible opportunities for people with disabilities to get out and enjoy BC’s backcountry.
"The first time I stepped on the skis, I was absolutely blown away! Coming from a racing background, I had some preconceived notions about skis with a wider waist. The first time I jumped on these skis, everything I thought I knew about fat skis went out the window! Not only were these skis, super fun, playful, and manoeuvrable on deep days I could not believe the amount of confidence they bring when things get a little firm! The stability tip to tail allows for a solid platform underfoot bringing undeniable confidence, no matter the conditions!"
Maddie Lowe
Maddie hails from the Mad River Valley of Vermont with a background in downhill racing. She ventured to Utah for her education, pursuing a career in Aviation and concurrently falling in love with big mountain skiing in the Wasatch. However, her ski career took an unexpected turn as she grew to adore Sierra cement over the renowned power of Alta, UT. Recently, Maddie made Truckee her home, dedicating her efforts to the High Fives Foundation, where her commitment to the ski community shines through in supporting and inspiring others.
"The RMU Apostle 96 ski delivers exceptional performance with a perfect balance of stability and maneuverability. A ski for charging groomers and through classic Sierra cement. At the end of the day, this ski takes me from the top to the Slot ;) "
"Lightweight and versatile. This pack is perfect for smaller outings. So many pockets and convenient storage, a bonus feature I love is the removable waist belt. Overall a high quality pack that does It all!"
Maggie Ziols
Maggie learned to mountain bike while living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula during her college years. Dropping small rock gardens on a craiglist hardtail, Maggie quickly became addicted to the adrenaline rush of mountain biking and the close-knit community that surrounds it. Eager to live in the mountains and to pursue her career, Maggie moved to the Reno-Tahoe area in 2017. She feels beyond lucky to call Truckee home. To pay the bills, Maggie is a Professional Engineer who delivers environmental engineering services to underserved and vulnerable populations throughout Nevada and the Eastern Sierra, CA. Abma has won the Powder Video Award for Best Male Performance twice in 2005 and 2007 and continues to lead the industry today
"The Professor is my most used ski because it provides the perfect balance between being playful and hard charging. It has an amazing ability to slash turns, but also has the stability for high speed turns. The tip keeps you floating on the deep days and the tail gives you the support needed for landing airs. In other words, “It floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.“ "
Mark Draper
Mark Draper is originally from Toronto, Ontario. A park athlete that has many waves on social media and the competition circuit in his during his time competing. "After a year and a half and more days than I can count on the North Shore 114’s I am nothing but completely impressed. I’ve used this ski for resort, 40km single day backcountry traverses, pillows, steep faces, and everything in between and never been let down. It is my do it all ski that’s light enough to go the distance, but stable enough to be comfortable on any line you can pick out."
"This is a piece of gear that pretty much stays on my bike all season long. It fits just above my water bottle, and is always stocked with bars or an Allen key. It’s especially helpful during long rides where I don’t want my pockets over stuffed. In addition to holding lots of bars, I also have used it to put my watch in for descents as it bugs my wrist. Overall this is a great piece of gear that has been very helpful for racing as well as just general rides"
Riley Mcguire
Riley was born in Truckee, Ca and was raised in North Lake Tahoe. Riley has spent all of his life in Lake Tahoe skiing the Sierra mountains and he doesn’t plan on leaving. He has also been lucky enough to ski the past 25 years at squaw before the name was changed to Palisades and taken over by a corporation. He developed his skiing fundamentals with competitive mogul skiing and quickly became consumed by the competition scene. Riley worked his way up to ski on the Noram tour and even placed 5th at Nationals in his 6 years of competition skiing. Once Riley was finished with his mogul skiing career he began to focus on refining his park and big mountain abilities. He soon became a traveling competition coach for the Olympic Valley Freestyle Team and still is. You can find Riley out on the mountain on any given day either helping his athletes reach their goals or sharing unforgettable experiences with his friends and the community.
"The YLE 118 is my favorite Ski for big powder days. It is one of the best skis for hitting big cliffs or doing big jumps with because you will always stay afloat with them. Not to mention being able to trust the ski after you land a high speed send and having the confidence to go straight through all the chopped up snow."
"The Rippah 98 is my favorite all around ski because of the symmetrical shape. I have so much fun with them on groomers because how easy it is to lean into a turn and not to mention the perfect stiffness for doing butters with."
Ryan Grimm
Ryan Grimm is a 17 year old skier, born in Hong Kong, then raised in Squamish B.C. He’s been skiing at Whistler since the age of 2. His skiing is a true product and testament of Whistler itself. Going through practically every ski school program starting at level 1, he now resides in the prestigious Whistler Freeride Club. Currently competing on the Jr level, Ryan plans on competing in the FWQ’s as soon as he turns 18 and has big aspirations. RMU initially caught Ryan’s eye when skiing with Freestyle Whistler under the tutelage of former ambassador Sergei Sirotov. Ryan claims: “the graphics were sick, they skied awesome, the food was amazing, and the vibes were high, what more could you want?”. Nowadays, Ryan can be found hitting Peak Chair laps bell to bell with the freeride crew, getting some fresh tracks in the local backcountry, playing around with new axes on trampoline, or chowing down on RMU’s big kahuna burger.
"The first time I tried the YLE 118, it was during club training. I borrowed a pair belonging to one of my coaches (Drew Adams). After the first lap I fell in love, everything I could possibly want out of a ski. They had the hard charging stiff feeling that in bounds freeride demands. Really felt like I can hold an edge on anything. However, what I believe makes the YLE’s truly unique is that they maintain a super playful and surfy freestyle feeling. Exactly the ski I’ve been looking for. It shreds hard but incredibly jibby/poppy at the same time. It’ll both pop a 3 on both the biggest cliff, and smallest mogul. "
Sami Lampe
Sami, a Tahoe native, discovered her love for skiing at the age of two. She dabbled in various skiing disciplines, starting as a racer. As the years rolled on, her fervor for the sport continued to evolve, leading her to explore the world of park skiing. At the age of 12, she took a pivotal step in her skiing career by joining the Northstar Freestyle Team. Under the guidance of world-class coaches, including the beloved late ambassador, Zach Steele, Sami honed her skills and nurtured her love for the sport. Sami's dedication and hard work paid off when, at the age of 15, she clinched the 1st Place Overall title in the USASA Nationals. However, life took unexpected turns, and Sami faced a couple of major injuries that temporarily redirected her path. Undaunted, she explored other passions, including playing college soccer and embarking on years of travel. But the call of the mountains and the allure of Tahoe eventually drew her back to the place she holds dear. Sami established the first Big Mountain program for young, aspiring skiers at Diamond Peak. In tandem with her efforts on the slopes, she took up bartending at RMU Truckee, where she undoubtedly brought her unique brand of energy that she is known for on the hill. Today, Sami has refocused her energy and creativity towards capturing the essence of her beloved sport and the remarkable individuals who comprise its community. Her dedication to documenting this thrilling world is a testament to her enduring love for skiing and the people who make it truly special.
""This season, I'll be riding the North Shore 114, carbon core. I'm really looking forward to getting my uphill hours in, with the dog and just enjoying nature. For the resort I switch between the Rippahs and my Apostle 106's. The Apostles are my go-to for everything honestly, the metal core in that ski brings me back to my racing days, I like a ski that is aggressive and strong, so those are perfect for me.""
Sergi Massot
Sergi migrated from Barcelona 6 years ago. He was into BMX during his teenager years and he never thought that he would one day ride big bikes. When he moved to Whistler he got a second hand bike that gave him more trips to the hospital than successful memories. You can find Sergi riding anywhere in the Sea to Sky with a big smile and good vibes or at RMU Whistler for a mandatory hydration stop after a ride.
"My favorite product is Enduro Fanny 3L, and I can't ride without it. It fits a ton of needs for a day of biking and you cannot feel it riding, it holds extremely good on you."
Shikaichi Ueki
Shika is a a Japanese skier based in Golden B.C, Canada. While a little bit further away fom our base of Whistler, Shika was put in touch with RMU through athlete Wiley Miller, who has travelled up to Golden the past few seasons during his film projects. Wiley's latest project from this season showcases Shika's expertise in the mountain of Golden, BC, and we are excited to see more of Shika in local & international projects!
"The best skis I have ever used, no doubt. Good float and turning on powder for sure, but also so much fun curving on groomers and strong on choppy snow too. Those skis have always impressed me, from big mountain to resort laps!"
Sofia Forsman
Belonging in the backcountry with the rare appearance at the ski hill, an alpine wrangler with a heart for exploring. Sofia is our multitool, equal parts athlete, ski guide and instructor. Guiding heliskiing, ski touring, mountaineering courses and teaching avalanche courses. You'll see her on both sides of the lens, recently in Skier Rich. With some luck you'll spot her at the Blackcomb bar, ordering one of the many fancy cocktails she probably can't pronounce the name of.
"I take the Apostle for alpine touring when stability and flex for big turns and airtime is essential, this will be my pick. Slightly longer and with a bit more live feel"
"The North Shore 114 is for the biggest lines and the deepest days, whenever I have a bit of help getting up the mountain this ski is the it for me"
"My spirit animal is the Valhalla 107, light for long days while not compromising any float or stability handling all conditions you may encounter and not plan for"
Spencer Green
Spencer has been skiing RMU equipment since 2012 when he brought his first pair of Professors to the Andes for a Summer shred. It was love at first landing and he has been enjoying the evolution of the RMU ski line ever since. He's skied in 5 continents for 10+ years w RMU tools, and he can proudly say that there is a ski for nearly every scenario. "My wife and I have 2 incredible little groms who are fast, furious, and hilarious mini mountain folks. Growing our family in Truckee is a rad adventure as we love all of the opportunities that N. Lake Tahoe has to offer any month of the year. If ya see us out rippin around, be sure to say howdy!!"
"Oftentimes skiing many conditions in one day here in the Sierra you never know what to expect. I typically go for the Apostle 106. I've found that this ski is an absolute weapon that I can unsheathe at anytime on any day, anywhere."
"The mountain briefcase is a sleeper item in the RMU line that is the best bag I've ever owned. From a boot bag to a carry on, to an everyday work pack this thing is incredible."
Spencer Wight
Born and raised in the local forests of Whistler, Spencer has always been driven to go higher and further. With his parents being long-time Whistler ski bums, it was no surprise that Spencer was on a pair of skis shortly after learning to stand. From being on the leash in front of his dad, to ripping peak laps with the Whistler Freeride club, Spencer grew up hunting for powder, and nothing has changed. In the summers, he spent his days finding the gnarliest features in the valley and taking turns one-upping his friends on their 120mm XC bikes. After taking to mountain bike racing and competing internationally in enduro, Spencer attended university on Vancouver Island and received an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. Spencer returned to Whistler and found a rekindled passion for the mountains. Now, you can find him ski patrolling on Blackcomb Mountain, chasing new lines in the backcountry, racing mountain bikes and climbing peaks. We're stoked to welcome Spencer on board for this new winter season to see where his creative and adventurous style can take him.
"Before stepping on these skis I thought they would be reserved for only the deepest of days but I quickly realized that they will let you lay it down on any condition. They are incredibly snappy and playful for their size and don't feel dead when popping off side hits or carving into corduroy. In pow they come alive keeping you in the sweet spot letting you put yourself wherever you want. If you like face shots, you'll like these baddies."
"Easily my favourite all around, do-everything ski. The Apostles will cut through crud at speed without bucking and have a short enough turn radius that you can cut shapes into anything and ski it like a boss."
Stellan Lane
Stellan is no stranger to the mountains. Born and raised in Tahoe he grew up skiing at Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows. He went through every race team they offered, but ultimately settled on the freeride team. It’s here he’s made a name for himself in TJFS and IFSA competitions as one of freeride skiing’s up and coming youth. Now In his senior year attending North Tahoe High School he’s planning on competing this year in the IFSA junior series before he takes his shot at getting on the Freeride World Tour in college.
"When the suns shining and the parks built there’s only one ski I’ll use. The rippah. This stiff twin is the perfect park ski for any freerider who’s spending their off season in the park. The added stiffness insures no wobbles or unintentional slips but bends whenever you need to butter or grab. These skis will eat up any bumps or ruts on the run in or your landing with no tip movement at all. They hold this stiffness out of the park too, they’ll destroy any side hits or moguls that are in your way. Overall the perfect spring day ski."
Taylor Grimes
Taylor's love for rolling around in the dirt started at a young age, but it wasn't until 2020 that she discovered the joys of doing it on two wheels. Living in Placerville, CA at the time, she quickly fell in love with mountain biking and knew she had found her one true love. Mountain biking has become more than a hobby for Taylor; it's a lifestyle that brings her immense joy, camaraderie, and a deep connection with nature, community, and her first aid kit. In April 2022, Taylor moved to Truckee, where she has been proud to call home ever since. As she celebrates her one-year anniversary in Truckee, she continues to reflect on the countless memories forged on the trails and eagerly anticipates many more to come! When she is off the trails, Taylor dedicates her full-time efforts to the waste management industry, striving to broaden access to recycling and instigate behavior change that fosters a more sustainable future.
""Whether tackling trails or navigating daily life, the Core Pack 15L effortlessly meets all my needs. This backpack is more than storage; it's a reliable companion adapting to every journey. Versatility at its best!""
Tristan Underhill
Born and raised in Whistler BC, Tristan is a prodigy of Whistler's generational skiers. Between his free time and his previous years of patrolling on Whistler Blackcomb, Tristan has spent more time on a pair of skis than most people do walking. Tristan was first introduced to RMU in 2012 by RMU community member Landon Pinette. A grassroots team that was the first to push and receive the infamous Professor 200cm ski. Tristan has been riding RMU ever since and is now pushing boundaries on exceptional big mountain terrain, but always behind the scenes. Whistler produces some of the world's best skiers that we never see. A regular Tristan day may be something we'd all love to watch on a movie screen, so for the 2022 season, we superglued a Go-Pro to his head and had our minds blown. We're always excited to see what Tristan does next.
"The YLE 118 is my ultimate backcountry ski of choice. seamlessly tackling tree skiing, pillows, powder, big alpine lines, and airs with unmatched prowess. I grab this ski for everyday I go out on the sled."
"The Apostle ski is my trusted choice for conquering variable conditions, seamlessly transitioning from powdery landscapes to impeccably groomed trails. Used for backcountry ski touring and inbounds resorts skiing."
Tucker Osborn

Ty Urlich
Ty Urlich is a 26-year-old skier and filmmaker from Boston, Massachusetts. After years of skiing competitively in moguls and slopestyle he made the move to British Columbia in search of better mountains. Transitioning his focus to filmmaking, Ty collaborated with a group of Whistler locals and RMU ambassadors to create a short ski film titled "Better Now." This marked the beginning of his current role as both a skier and filmmaker, where he aims to capture remarkable moments in the mountains that reveal the emotions and unwavering dedication that drive individuals in our beloved sport.
"I’ve been riding the Rippah and the YLE 118’s and their both incredible skis. The YLE 118’s have the perfect stiffness for deep snow which makes me fully confident when stepping to big terrain. The Rippah's have been a blast in the park, they're stiff enough for blasting through slush and going to the bottom of landing’s but flexible enough to get up on your noses and get playful on rails."
Will Fossum
Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Will is a 21-year-old slopestyle skier who relocated to Whistler shortly after high school. Although no longer competing, Will has transitioned into a role as a freestyle ski coach, nurturing the next generation of skiers in everything style has to offer. Recently, he was part of Krafted Production's "Water The Plants," which won Amateur Ski Film of the Year at the 2023 IF3 Ski Festival, along with RMU skiers Jacob Belanger, Luca Natale and Kyle Coxworth.
"Ive been riding the Rippah for the past two seasons and it's by far my go to ski. It gives me a ton of control going into big jumps and it is quick to move/spin around on rails. "
